We are responsible for some street lights but not all lights (its’ complicated)
Street lighting on the more major roads is managed by Norfolk County Council or Highways England. But we maintain many of the street lights on the minor roads and paths within the village. We keep a register of those lights we look after. Phone or email the clerk to find out if it’s one of ours., or to report an issue.
Tips on reporting a streetlight problem
- Say what is wrong, ie ‘flashing on and off’, or ‘not working at all’
- Location, location, location
Say where is it exactly, ie outside number 73 on Lynn Road (for example) - Does the lamp post have a number on it somewhere? Take down the number if there is one.
- Take a photo on your phone (with enough background to show where it is) and a close up to show the number, if there is one.
If it’s not one our the lights we look after, it will need reporting to Norfolk County Council. You can do that yourself, or our clerk will be happy to pass it on.
